Again
the weather was a deciding factor in the numbers attending,
but true to BCC style the clouds parted as the barby was lit
and 20 members wined and dined outside. As always the wind
blew not only the heat, but the smoke and ash in our
direction whilst the sun shone from the opposite. So by
rotating our seating both sides could be roasted, coated and
cured.
Two
actual new members joined us from Lapwing, namely Ray &
Meira whose boat will be found on ‘E’ pontoon.
It was
noted however that one of the club rules was not fully
observed at the barbeque. It has been a long standing club
tradition that cooking is a male dominated activity (we stay
warm whilst the women freeze), but this time a lone female
was spotted venturing towards the fire. This indeed was fire
fighting at its most intense. The Committee will ensure that
this misdemeanour is not repeated!
