Visit to the Olympic Site

We had a full minibus for the tour of the Olympic Park site on Sunday 14th March. A Blue Badge Guide gave an excellent commentary with plenty of facts and figures about the London Games and the Olympic Park in particular (which is being constructed by the Olympic Delivery Authority), while the driver stopped on numerous occasions so we could take photos.

Building works are well advanced and on target for handover next year to the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG). If anyone would like to take a closer look at the Olympic Park, there is a public gallery with café called View Tube on the Greenway at Pudding Mill Lane DLR station. The Olympic web site also has live cameras and videos if you want to view from afar: london2012.com

After the tour we had an excellent lunch in King Eddie’s pub in Stratford Broadway.
